TAPESTRY is one of Alabama’s hottest party bands. It was first founded in 1980 when Sam Williams, Tom Sellers, and other members of the 604th Air Force Rock Band "Max Load" began playing jazz shows in clubs around Montgomery. Since then the band has played hundreds of engagements in Alabama and surrounding states. The musicians in TAPESTRY have over 150 years in combined musical experience. All members have years of both on-the-job and formal musical training. Everyone in the band has worked professionally in a number of different musical genres (rock, soul, jazz, R&B, country, blues, etc.), all members read music, and the band members maintain written charts of each new song, allowing us to pick up new songs very quickly and maintain them in the repertoire.
TAPESTRY custom designs each performance considering the type of event, the number of people, audience demographics (Age range, racial make up, etc.) and requests from the audience. We have successfully entertained for wedding receptions, fraternity parties, corporate dinners/dances, society balls, fund raisers, and in numerous nightclubs. We specialize in being able to play quiet music for a dinner or the initial hour of a wedding reception and then turn around and "rock the house" when it is time for dancing.
